Programs

THE MACKELLAR CENTRE WILL BE OFFERING A NUMBER OF PROGRAMS IN THE AREAS OF EDUCATION, ART AND TOURISM – CHOOSE ONE TO SUIT YOUR NEEDS.

MACKELLAR CENTRE VISITS

Committee members of the Dorothea Mackellar Memorial Society can facilitate visits from community groups and show them around the Mackellar Centre and its surrounds. Morning teas can also be arranged. Please email us for more details.

School students and their teachers are also welcome to view the Mackellar Centre. We aim to design excursions that meet specific curriculum requirements and have developed a worksheet to coincides with the memorabilia and paintings on display. We want to make your visit an educational and inspiring learning experience. Please email [email protected] for a copy of the worksheet and to enquire about opening days.

WORKSHOPS

Each year, we have special guest speakers that make their way to Gunnedah as part of the National Poetry Awards program. In 2017, we had the Hon. Margaret White give a presentation to local Legal Studies students, and in 2018, we were fortunate enough to have author James Knight give writing workshops to local students. He received much praise for his wonderful talks and connected with audiences of all ages. Watch this space for other opportunities and for the 2019 guest speaker!
