The Society needs your help. If you care about the future of Kurrumbede, please consider writing a submission!
For many, Dorothea Mackellar’s ‘My Country’ poem sums up the Australian bush. Kurrumbede, the Mackellar family property near Gunnedah, north west NSW, is being considered for the State Heritage Register. Dorothea was a frequent visitor to the station, run by her two brothers, and her poetry refers directly to the local landscape.
Nominated by the Dorothea Mackellar Society, submissions on the listing close on November 15. The Kurrumbede property is an important part of our literary and pastoral heritage! Please send your support to Heritage Council of NSW, Locked Bag 5020, Parramatta NSW 2124
