2022 PRESENTATION CEREMONY

In 2022 we returned to a live ceremony for the national winners of the Dorothea Mackellar Poetry Competition. On the eve of the awards, winners and guests were treated to a Welcome Dinner at Maverick Bistro before being driven to Kurrumbede for a visit the following morning. After an educational experience at the former Mackellar family homestead, it was time for the big event.

Special guests at the 2022 ceremony included prolific writer, teacher and poet, Peter Ramm, the Hon. Sarah Mitchell, MLC (NSW Minister for Education and Early Learning, and the Hon. Mark Coulton (Federal Member for Parkes.) Federal Minister for Education, Hon Jason Clare MP, could not attend the ceremony but was able to send an uplifting video message of congratulations and support for our young winners.

The Dorothea Mackellar Poetry Awards wishes to thank all the teachers, students and parents who submitted poetry this year, as well as the sponsors, special guests and VIP’s who make this whole competition possible.
